One of the most provocative styles of bedroom wear is open lingerie. This type of lingerie features cut-outs in certain places. While an outfit like this can get your partner's blood racing, it is certainly not right for everyone. When it comes to choosing lingerie to wear in front of your significant other, the number one most important thing is self confidence. If you don't feel confident in your appearance it will definitely spoil the romantic mood. The good news is that women of all ages and body types can gain greater confidence in how they look in lingerie.

Comfort is important when seeking greater body confidence. If what you are wearing is uncomfortable you will probably not feel very confident or very romantic. Instead of being able to focus on your partner, you will be focused on how itchy or tight your outfit is. While you can't try on lingerie before you buy for obvious reasons, look for quality craftsmanship and fabrics when shopping. Think about not only how the item looks, but how you think it will feel on your body. For example, thong underwear is considered sexy by some. However, some women just cannot get used to the sensation of wearing it and should choose something with more backside coverage.

Color is another important thing to consider when lingerie shopping. Black is a classic choice that is very seductive and works for everyone. However if you are going for something less outwardly sexy and more romantic, try white or pastel shades. Light colors look striking against dark skin. Red is a sizzling shade that is for the super-confident. Floral prints are sweet, while animal prints are primal and bold. When selecting patterns or colors, take your skin tone, hair color and eye color into consideration.

Of course, if you're even considering open lingerie, then you're probably already quite confident. You don't have to have a supermodel body to pull off sexy bedroom wear. Women of all sizes can wear even the most risque of lingerie if they feel good about themselves and are with a partner they love and trust. When shopping for this type of lingerie, you will need to shop online or from a specialty catalog. You certainly won't find open style bras and panties for sale in the lingerie department at Bloomingdales (or any other department store for that matter.)
